Spotlight Project
RubRub BBQ | Launch Video

Brief
RubRub BBQ brought me on to create a brand launch video rooted in the founder’s personal story—without the budget for a new shoot. I served as both editor and creative director, building the piece from the ground up using a patchwork of self-shot footage, cooking clips, brand photography, childhood images, and a voiceover recorded by the founder. With a strong focus on motion graphics and pacing, I turned limited assets into a dynamic, visually rich introduction to the RubRub BBQ world.

Outcome
The result was a grungy, stylized video that captured Michael Pyon’s voice and brought his flavor-forward brand to life. By leaning into creative constraints, I developed a punchy narrative that fused raw footage with custom animation and design. The video anchored the RubRub website, ran across social platforms, and was adapted into a cutdown for their Amazon storefront—demonstrating how a well-crafted origin story can drive impact across multiple channels.
